ALARM DESIGNERJOB DESCRIPTIONJob Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Perform on site surveys
- Prepare fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD based from working both site visits and architectural prints
- Calculate, design and coordinate a project from beginning to end
- Coordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractors
- Modify and/or create processes to ensure consistent production and document control
- Assist superintendents and field personnel on system and code applications
- Assist sales department with system configuration, specification review and code applications for estimating projects
- Maintain project drawing files and recordsKnowledge:
- High School diploma or GED is required
- Construction experience is a plusWork Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Fire Alarm system design and Auto CAD
- APS State of TX preferredSkills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings
- Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
- Ability to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel as neededPhysical Requirements
- 75% Office Setting, including sitting, some bending, some lifting, walking and viewing.
