Our law group is growing and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent our clients in all areas of family law. You'll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. Benefits: --- Medical --- Dental --- 401K with a 3% matching --- Life insurance --- Short term disability Responsibilities: --- Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date --- Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings --- Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients --- Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases --- Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process --- Minimum billable hour requirement of 120 hours per month --- Requires in-person Court hearings in Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Montgomery, and Harris Counties in Texas Qualifications: --- Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required --- Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background --- Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants --- Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations --- Must be comfortable on camera for videos on relevant topics for social media --- Must be able to work without a legal assistant or paralegal --- Must be able to bill a minimum of 120 hours per month --- Must have worked on family law issues for at least 5 years --- Must be organized and self-motivated as this is a remote position --- Must be licensed in the State of Texas About Company: We are a small, but fast-growing Family Practice Law Firm in Bellaire, Texas, looking for amazing Team Members to ensure that the firm is always putting its best foot forward for our clients.
