It was designed to foster improved collaboration, creativity, and innovation.What role you will play in our teamExxon Mobil Corporation is seeking an attorney to provide advice and counsel regarding labor and employment legal matters with a focus on traditional labor law issues. The attorney will handle a variety of matters and work independently with supervision that is appropriate for the attorney's level of experience.What you will do - Provide legal analysis and counsel on labor and employment matters for Exxon Mobil Corporation and for Company affiliates.
- Advise clients on complete range of employment law matters, including Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Advise clients on traditional labor law matters, including collective bargaining issues, grievance handling, first chairing labor arbitration hearings, collective bargaining agreement interpretation, and defense of unfair labor practice charges before the NLRB.
- Investigate charges of discrimination filed with the EEOC and prepare position statements on behalf of the Company.
- Advise clients in conducting employment-related investigations.
- Provide advice and counsel regarding compliance with laws, regulations, and Company policy, anticipate and guard against legal risks and exposures to the Company.
- Prepare and review presentations and other documents associated with the above matters.About youSkills and Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Strong college and law school class performance (top 1/3 of class preferred).
- Licensed to practice law in at least one state (Texas Bar membership strongly preferred).
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Demonstrated work experience in a law firm, corporation, or agency.
- Reputation for high ethical standards and integrity.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to exercise sound business judgment.
- Work independently but also as a member of an integrated legal team to contribute collaboratively.
- Ability to travel domestically as needed.
- Ability to work effectively with a highly diverse, global law department.Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience, all (or substantially all) of which is in the area of labor and employment law.
