As an Estimator, you will assess bid requirements and technical drawings, participate in pre-bid meetings, and collaborate closely with the Estimating team to ensure accurate bids. Responsibilities: --- Analyze proposals and requirements to produce accurate electrical estimates for commercial and industrial projects. --- Utilize knowledge and expertise in electrical systems, with a focus on low-voltage estimate systems. --- Attend pre-bid and team scope review meetings to fully understand project requirements, even with limited information. --- Conduct job walks and meetings at construction project sites in the regional area. --- Review and comprehend all project bid documents thoroughly. --- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors by locating, notifying, and providing bid information for outsourced work quotations. --- Complete estimated takeoffs within specified time deadlines using computer estimating tools. --- Prepare change order estimates for awarded projects as needed. --- Collaborate with other estimators, company divisions, and departments throughout the estimating process. --- Finalize estimates within deadlines and participate in team reviews with management on bid day. --- Interact daily with subcontractors and vendors to ensure clear communication and collaboration. --- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids for completeness, schedule adherence, specification compliance, and other bid requirements. --- Conduct value engineering analysis to align with customer interests. --- Develop a detailed scope of work narratives for each project. --- Support field operations with the estimated post-bid award during project closeout. --- Draft proposal letters outlining the scope of work, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications, meeting proposal due dates. --- Anticipate estimating requirements with limited information available. --- Follow up consistently with customers for feedback on bids/proposals and report results to management. --- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards, reporting any discrepancies to the Chief Estimator. --- Assist in the bid process/procedures and review final bids with the Estimating Staff. --- Support the VP of Pre-Con as needed. --- Attend project meetings and perform site investigations as assigned. --- Embrace and follow the Estimating Process and Procedures along with Amber's Core Values. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Position Requirements: --- Must be able to clear background and drug screen. --- Must have a valid driver's license. --- At least 4+ years of estimating commercial and or industrial projects. --- Field experience in electrical and low-voltage systems is a plus. --- Accustomed to estimating for projects valued at $3M and above. Please provide examples. --- Thorough knowledge of the electrical field with familiarity with materials and construction methods. --- Knowledgeable of the N.E.C. and local code. --- Full working knowledge and experience with ConEst and IntellBid. --- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word) and comfortable with spreadsheets and computerized on-screen takeoff programs. --- Maintains a "value-added" approach to estimating. --- Produce accurate, timely, and competitive estimates with minimal data. --- Excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and owners. --- Ability to maintain organization while multitasking in an extremely quick-paced environment. --- Ability to adapt to Company estimating policies and procedures easily. --- On occasion, you may need to work overtime to meet bid response deadlines. --- Must have reliable transportation.
