The Cloud Operations Analyst specializing in automation and orchestration will help transform application development and deployment, enabling application teams to quickly deliver against business needs.<br> <br>Essential Responsibilities<br>•Team with operations staff and developers to maximize automation of critical infrastructure components ( monitoring, patching, Windows/Unix deployment and administration)<br>•Use tools such as Chef, Powershell, and ServiceMesh to enable and enhance Platform as a Service (PaaS) models within Oil and Gas<br>•Automate responses to issues in the environment, creating low-to-no touch rapid responses that maximize application uptime<br>•Work with corporate teams managing automation and orchestration tools to ensure Oil and Gas’s requirements are being met<br>•Maintain and apply current knowledge of information technology; keep abreast of new and emerging technologies; make technology, process, and application recommendations that can be used to lower costs, increase performance, and add value to the business<br>•Keep abreast of enabling technologies and work as a partner to promote their effective use <br>•Demonstrate an ongoing ability to work in a fast paced Agile environment and be able to present contributions in a group environment<br> <br>Desired Characteristics<br>•Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)<br>•Experience and understating of tiered architecture components and how they interact (web, app, DB, etc)<br>•Strong server virtualization background (VMWare, VDI)<br>•Understanding of AWS or other cloud provider components and when to utilize each<br>•Knowledge of development methodologies in one or more development language (Java, .net, PHP)<br>•Ability to break down large amounts of data into categories and drive projects based off the results<br>•Excellent track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities<br>•Ability to effectively communicate and work with a global team including other GE employees and contractors<br>•Six Sigma experience a plus<br>•Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources<br>•Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships and creates processes with customer viewpoint<br>•Strong analytical skills – strong problem solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve<br>•Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change, and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways<br> <br>If you're interested in learning more about this outstanding contract to hire opportunity, or any other great Modis jobs, please forward your resume TODAY!<br></span> More...
