Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid in 77060) Duration: Contract/Contract-to-Hire Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US Top Skills Required: This is a hybrid position located in north Houston Strong skills in the installation and troubleshooting of Meraki is a requirement Experience troubleshooting AWS network connectivity is a requirement Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled Infrastructure & Network Specialist to join our team and manage critical network infrastructure and cloud resources. This role requires a deep understanding of Meraki networking solutions, AWS environments, and virtual instance management. The ideal candidate will have experience working with cloud-based solutions, virtual instances (EC2), and network provisioning, as well as an ability to troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues. The role also involves supporting the organization's infrastructure, including desktop support and managing print services in a cloud-based environment. Key Responsibilities: Meraki Networking Management: Set up, configure, and maintain Meraki firewalls, applications, and network infrastructure for new branch locations and during relocations. Ensure that Meraki equipment is correctly provisioned, including routers, switches, and access points. Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues at remote branches, especially in case of internet service disruptions or circuit failures. Cloud Infrastructure & AWS: Provision EC2 instances from templates within AWS. Maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of virtual instances and other AWS resources. Collaborate with the service desk to manage cloud-based application provisioning and access control. Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor network circuits through Command Link and backup Verizon 5G services, ensuring connectivity is stable. Troubleshoot and resolve any internet or connectivity issues affecting branch operations. Ensure network configurations are aligned with best practices, minimizing issues with infrastructure. Other General Duties: Support and manage cloud-based printer solutions like Printer Logic, ensuring smooth delivery and management of print services. Assist with the retirement of print servers, specifically handling two print queues. Oversee a team of 4 help desk/desktop support staff, ensuring timely response and resolution of technical support requests. Manage virtual instances and infrastructure within the virutal environment at the corporate office. Assist with virtual domain authentication and manage internal resources across virtualized systems. Provide support and insights for service desk teams and assist with security provisioning for applications and mobile devices. Ensure effective communication and collaboration with other departments to maintain smooth operations. Required Skills & Qualifications: Extensive experience with Meraki network equipment, including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points. Basic knowledge of AWS infrastructure, including the ability to provision EC2 instances from templates. Previous experience with EC2 and AWS environments preferred. Strong understanding of cloud-based systems and networking solutions, with a focus on network provisioning and troubleshooting. Experience with cloud-based print solutions (e.g., Printer Logic) is a plus. Proven experience managing or supporting IT teams with a focus on desktop support and end-user services. Strong problem-solving skills, especially related to network connectivity issues and internet circuit failures. Hands-on experience with virtual instances and virtualization technologies, particularly in AWS and VMware and/or Hyper-V environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Desired Qualifications: Prior experience with Printer Logic for cloud-based printer delivery solutions is a nice-to-have. Basic understanding of security provisioning for cloud-based applications and mobile devices. Ability to monitor and respond to service disruptions, including internet service failures and circuit issues at remote locations.
