Job Overview The Mortgage Lending Officer is responsible for managing the mortgage application process from initial consultation through to loan closing. This role involves working closing with clients to understand their financial needs, collecting and verifying necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. A key responsibility includes managing referrals from retail banking associations and maintaining strong relationships with these partners. Key Responsibilities: Conduct initial client consultations to assess financial needs and recommend appropriate mortgage products. Guide clients through the mortgage application process, ensuring all required documentation is collected and submitted accurately. Maintain strong relationships with clients and retail banking associations to generate and manage referrals. Work closely with retail banking partners to ensure a seamless referral process and provide timely updates on referred clients. Communicate with loan officers, underwriters, and clients to resolve any issues or discrepancies. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations and policies. Submit loan applications to underwriting for approval and follow up on outstanding conditions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date loan files and documentation. Provide regular status updates to clients, loan officers, and retail banking partners. Prepare and submit final loan packages for closing. Essential Skills and Abilities Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field Provide experience in mortgage processing or a related field. Strong knowledge of mortgage products, lending practices, and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in using loan processing software and Microsoft office suite.
