Join us.Itron is currently seeking a Director of Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS), a global procurement role, to join our Global Operations team in the Austin, Texas office location. This leadership role focuses on cost efficiencies, contract management, and the strategic development of supplier partnerships to ensure quality, cost savings, and supply chain resilience and will be primarily responsible for the development and execution of the Itron EMS strategy.Managing a mix of global and regional tier 1 through to tier 3 EMS partners, this person works very closely within Global Operations to drive collaboration across the various manufacturing operations team, supply chain, quality, PMO, tools & processes and the PBU NPI teams to ensure critical visibility and alignment on the various business priorities and strategies while optimizing a substantial annual spend exceeding $500M. This role reports directly to the VP Global Procurement.Duties and Responsibilities: - Lead, mentor, and manage a team of six Supplier Business Managers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Drive ongoing Price Per Value (PPV) and cost-saving initiatives to improve financial performance.
- Serve as the primary negotiator and commercial lead for EMS contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Oversee Master Service Agreement (MSA) negotiations, ongoing contract management, and regular improvement of terms and conditions.
- Maintain senior-level relationships with EMS partners, fostering collaboration and mutual growth.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), Operational Business Reviews (OBRs), and other commercial assessments as needed.
- Act as a critical escalation point for resolving supplier and internal issues.
- Manage volume and New Product Introduction (NPI) business awards, optimizing supplier allocation and performance.
- Oversee dual sourcing allocations to ensure supply chain resilience and reduce dependency risks.
- Develop and execute commercial strategies that align with organizational goals and market demands.
- Regularly assess partner performance to ensure compliance with quality standards and strategic objectives.Required Skills & Experiences:
- Minimum of 15 years working in the EMS industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, including MSA and T&C development.
- Minimum of 5 years managing a manufacturing site, with a strong operational and strategic perspective.
- At least 10 years of experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) processes.
- Working knowledge of Quality Audits (QA) and quality control processes within manufacturing.
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing and finance processes, with the ability to align both for optimized performance.
- Hands-on experience working in diverse geographic regions, including Mexico, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific (AsiaPac).Preferred Skills & Experience:
