Simply said, we use our chemistry to change lives, shape markets, and redefine industries-one improvement at a time. Chemours is seeking a Chemi stry Co-op to join our New Johnsonville team ! This position will report directly to the Engineering Supervisor. As a Chemi stry Co-op, you will work closely with the New Johnsonville team gaining valuable experience through hands-on projects supporting a chemical plant . You will have exposure to real-time chemistry work alongside other chemists and engineers to apply what you've learned in the classroom. Effective chemistry co-ops will have the ability to communicate with impact , have strong self-awareness, and will be naturally inquisitive. Location: New Johnsonville, TN Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week Preferred First Term: January - May 2025 A year-long commitment is strongly preferred for this role. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: - Work ing with experienced chemistry and engineering professionals on improvement and support projects
- Assisting operations with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving chemistry issues
- Participating in process safety management activities and reviews
- Contributing to team meetings and conference calls
The following is required for this role : - Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a rising Sophomore or above at time of assignment
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemistry or similar fields
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
The following is preferred for this role : - Participation in relevant activities , organizations, and projects beyond the classroom
