Job Description: The MRI technologist is responsible for compassionate and appropriate patient care while performing MRI examinations under the direction of a physician to assist in the medical diagnosis or treatment of injury. Shift Details: Day and Swing * Hours: Full-time (4 - 10 hour shifts) or Part-time (2 - 3 10 hour shifts) * 80 hourly based on experience Utah Valley Hospital is part of Intermountain Health a nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. We are the only designated Level II Trauma Center between the Salt Lake Valley and St. So, our expert caregivers are specially trained to treat a wide range of patients, from those with the most severe injuries or illnesses to those undergoing a routine surgery or delivering a baby. We are a designated Stroke Center of Excellence and maintain Utah County's only medical hyperbaric chambers. More than 3000 babies are born each year at the hospital and we are accredited by the Joint Commission, complying with the highest national standards for safety and quality of care. With Intermountain Health our MRI Technologists are responsible for performing MRI examinations under the direction of a physician to assist in the medical diagnosis or treatment of our patients. Understand MRI safety concepts and executes them diligently and consistently to maintain magnet safety for patients, guests, self, and fellow caregivers. * Understand MRI scanning parameters and, in coordination with the radiologist, selects appropriate technical parameters and scanning techniques to ensure clinical exams are of good quality. * Perform MRI examinations according to system and department standard protocols. * Under the direction of the radiologist or supervising clinician, performs contrast and medication administration inherent to MRI examination, * or- ARRT(R) certification with at least 1 year full-time experience in MRI * Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers Bachelor's Degree in MRI or Advanced Radiologic Science Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. * Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. * Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) * Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital The hourly range for this position is listed below.
