Job Description: The MRI technologist is responsible for compassionate and appropriate patient care while performing MRI examinations under the direction of a physician to assist in the medical diagnosis or treatment of injury. The scope of responsibility includes facilities and departments as assigned by Imaging Services leadership and includes temporary shift assignments. Core responsibilities of this role include: - Understands MRI safety concepts and executes them diligently and consistently to maintain magnet safety for patients, guests, self, and fellow caregivers.
- Understands MRI scanning parameters and, in coordination with the radiologist, selects appropriate technical parameters and scanning techniques to ensure clinical exams are of good quality.
- Ensures proper patient identification, order identification, and prepares the patient appropriately for the exam.
- Performs MRI examinations according to system and department standard protocols.
- Understands cross sectional anatomy and demonstrates appropriate anatomical positioning and multiplanar image reconstruction.
- Under the direction of the radiologist or supervising clinician, performs contrast and medication administration inherent to MRI examination,
- Maintains competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job.
- Follows appropriate Intermountain policy and procedure including clinical documentation, billing, and electronic medical record workflows. Shift Details
- PRN position
- This position will have 1 guaranteed shift that needs to be covered every week at Tellica SLC.
- 12 hour shift (7:00 am - 7:00 pm) Minimum Qualifications
- ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification
- -or-
- ARRT(R) certification with at least 1 year full-time experience in MRI
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in MRI or Advanced Radiologic Science Physical Requirements:
