Job Description:The MR iFlex Technologist is part of Intermountain' s travel agency for assignments. MRI iFlex caregivers are expected to float to other facilities in the region if not needed at assigned facility. The MRIiFlex s responsible for performing medical imaging examinations under the direction of a physician to assist in the medical diagnosis or treatment of illness or injury. This position uses ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgement to perform high quality scans. This position functions under the supervision of local imaging coordinator or equivalent, with oversight from Imaging Services Management It is expected that the MRIiFlex tech. will support system wide and imaging services operational initiatives and practices, and will actively participate in safe operations plans as outlined May be required to take callThis job is right for you if you have the flexibility to travel to Intermountain's different locations in Utah and Idaho for 8-13 week assignments. You must feel comfortable working in multiple units within your specialty. - Pay and living stipend will be competitive with local and national travel Radiology Tech rates. We will evaluate pay and living stipend every quarter and adjust based on market trends. Each assignment will have a consistent pay rate but can change when a new assignment is given.
- For assignments greater than 50 miles from the employee's home, housing reimbursable amounts are determined by the assigned site location and receipts are required to be submitted within 30 days of transaction date. The caregiver is responsible for finding their own housing during each travel assignment.
- All iFlex employees will be expected to travel to all geographies and able to work at all Intermountain sites. The management team will work with each Technologist on assignments and will take all preferences and needs into consideration.Qualifications:Flat Rate: $77.00 hourlyHours: Full-TimeHousing Reimbursement: If working 50 miles or greater from your home, housing reimbursable amounts are determined by the assigned site location and receipts are required to be submitted within 30 days of transaction date.MRI Technologist responsibilities:
- Must be able to demonstrate a high-level clinical skill set in all hospital services provided in a trauma level hospital setting.
- Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
- Performs MRI examinations per department protocol.
- Understands cross sectional anatomy and demonstrates anatomical positioning competency. Critiques own films
- Completes studies within acceptable time limitations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.
- In coordination with the radiologist, selects proper scanning techniques and protocols.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of protocol relating to contrast administration. As ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision administers intravenous contrast material to patients.
- Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
- Understands and operates all MRI equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure that quality images are produced. Exhibits understanding and proficiency with electronic imaging. Exhibits a working knowledge of the MRI scanner. Troubleshoots when needed and understands the shutdown and start up procedures.
- Exhibits a working knowledge of the magnet, cryogens, gradient amplifiers, and all relevant computer hardware and software. Requirements:
- Current ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, required
- MR registered by ARRT, preferred
