Green Mountain Window Co. , a local leader in the highest-quality wood window manufacturing, is seeking a skilled Wood Machinist to join their team in Rutland, VT .

If you have at least 2 years of experience machining wood products/parts in a production or factory environment, as well as a valid driver's license and reliable transportation , Green Mountain Window wants to hear from you!

• Desirable M-F daytime schedule : Typical hours are between 6:30am - 3:30pm, and you will get out at 2:00pm on Fridays. With 3 hours of built in overtime each week, you can earn even more. No weekend work is required.

• Competitive compensation : Starting between $19 - $22/hr, or more for a well-qualified candidate. You can earn up to $50,000 or more in your first year, paid hourly including overtime.

• Working on a wide variety of machines and projects , you will be constantly expanding your skillset and never be bored! Essential duties/responsibilities:
  • Push or hold workpieces against, under, or through cutting, boring, or shaping mechanisms.
  • Adjust machine tables or cutting devices and set controls on machines to produce specified cuts or operations.
  • Examine raw woodstock for defects and to ensure conformity to size and other specification standards.
  • Examine finished workpieces for smoothness, shape, angle, depth-of-cut, or conformity to specifications and verify dimensions, visually and using hands, rules, calipers, templates, or gauges.
  • Set up, program, operate, or tend computerized or manual woodworking machines, such as drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, sanders, planers, or wood-nailing machines.
  • Change alignment and adjustment of sanding, cutting, or boring machine guides to prevent defects in finished products, using hand tools.
  • Clean or maintain products, machines, or work areas.
  • Trim wood parts according to specifications, using planes, chisels, or wood files or sanders.
