Account Executive/Customer Service AssociateAre you looking for a long-term career opportunity that will... - Let you use creative problem solving skills daily?
- Support you in expanding your skills?
- Value your ideas and contributions?
- Challenge your brain?
- Offer tons of variety?
- Reward you for hard work and having the confidence to run with your ideas?Who are we?Vermont Awards & Engraving is an open and affirming, woman & LGBT+ owned, award-winning, company in the St. Albans Industrial Park, with customers all over the U.S. and beyond. We are growing fast and looking for good fits to add to our team! All identities/backgrounds are welcome to apply, but to give a preview - our team is currently made up of 6 badass ladies & non-binary folks, mostly neurodivergent Millennials and Gen-Zers, who work hard so they can play hard, and are fiercely supportive of each other. We're the kind of workplace that wants you to express yourself (so no polo sporting our logo required), ask for help when you need it and take care of yourself, your health and your family - but we know that's only possible if we balance balance what we give and take, so we all have to utilize our strengths to support the rest of the team (and sometimes need to take on a little extra to support the person having an off day). So, what do we DO exactly? We make and/or engrave unique awards, signage, custom products, retirement gifts, donor recognition pieces, memorials, name tags, high quality branded products, and lots more...plus we often engrave client provided outside merchandise like industrial machine parts, firearms, tools and more. We've been at this for decades and have invested in quality and holding onto traditional techniques beyond what's typically found in our industry - usually it's not a question of "can we do it?" but more a question of timing, budget and how creative the client wants to let us get!At VAE we really pride ourselves in growing long-standing relationships. We prioritize getting to know our clients - their brand, company culture, the occasion for the gift or achievement the award is recognizing - so we can distill that vibe into the work we do for them to ensure they have a thoughtfully crafted piece to present. We do everything we can to have the recipient in mind when making recommendations and doing quality control, because we believe in our motto that "Recognition is Respect Made Visible".And ideally you...
- Are very comfortable with use of Windows computers, Gmail, navigating through files, attaching files to emails, creating PDFs, etc.
- Consider yourself creative - part of our quality control involves ensuring pieces meet our design standards, so having an artistic eye can be a big help
- Work well as part of a team while also being able to stay on top of your own distinct responsibilities
- Can balance having fun with our rowdy crew of ladies in the back while still presenting yourself professionally to clients
- Are detail oriented and confident in your ability to remember multiple variables that need to be checked for quality control (once trained)
- Are curious and motivated to learn - if there's down time the ideal employee will be browsing supplier websites to learn their products, asking to shadow production staff to better understand our processes, etc.
- Are comfortable (and ideally practiced) with sharing constructive feedback as well as receiving it (we expect people to be nit-picky so nothing sub-par makes it out the door)
- Understand mistakes happen and have no problem owning up and jumping in to help correct them
- Find opportunities to grow and take on new responsibilities exciting! There's lots of room to grow into marketing, social media management, new product R&D, planning days on the road to visit potential clients, etc.
- Love dogs
- Aren't super sensitive to strong aromas - we laser cut wood and plastic, bake fiberglass in a heat press, and our neighbors in the building are a THC extraction company and a brewery. What would your responsibilities be?
- Responding to clients with custom quotes (with training) via email
- Checking clients out in the showroom
- Answering the phones to give basic information, order updates, etc.
- Package and ship orders to clients
- Help organize and clean the consulting area/showroom
- Proof pieces prior to production as requested and proof finished products to ensure copy is correct, materials are correct, they're properly packaged, in good condition, etc.
- Call or email clients to let them know their orders are ready
- Add appointments to Google Calendar
- Learn our various supplier's offerings and how to order from each of them
- Unpack and stock/distribute contents of packages from our suppliers
- Set up and send links for online payment through the Talech payment platform for clients who prefer that to sending a checkPossibly, if you're into growing your role, also...
