BAE Systems, Inc. is looking for an experienced Chief Digital Architect (CDA) who will be responsible for refining, enhancing, and delivering BAE Systems, Inc.'s digital strategy.The CDA will be responsible for Digital strategy and executing the Digital transformation for a -$14B organization consisting of 30,000+ employees. This position will report to the Chief Information Officer and serve as a member of the Enterprise Shared Services Leadership team. This role will work closely with business unit Strategy and Digital leaders to understand business needs and interpret digital solutions to support the business units. It is imperative that this role has a thorough understanding of Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing processes to ensure that the Digital strategy is designed to support and improve our core business processes and capabilities.The CDA is responsible for developing a standardized set of tools and processes across the Enterprise while simultaneously identifying unique business needs and allowing for flexibility where appropriate. This individual is responsible for evaluating all in-flight digital projects and deployed technologies to identify those that fit within the revised Digital strategy construct and those that must be de-prioritized. The CDA will also need to collaborate with the Data Analytics team to ensure we have a sufficient data framework to execute our Digital transformation. The CDA will serve as an advocate for the Digital strategy on behalf of their teams by supporting new concepts and ideas, leading from the front and bringing external best practices forward for consideration to complement the Digital strategy.Critical responsibilities include:Strategy and Roadmap Development: - Collaborate with senior leadership to define the organization's digital vision and long-term goals.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive digital roadmap that aligns with business objectives.Innovation and Emerging Technologies:
- Stay informed about emerging technologies (AI, blockchain, IoT, etc.) and assess their relevance to our business.
- Ensure alignment with industry best practices and emerging trends.
- Pilot proof-of-concept projects to explore innovative solutions.Architecture Design and Implementation:
- Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, platforms, and frameworks.
- Develop architectural blueprints for digital solutions, considering scalability, security, and performance.System Integration and Interoperability:
- Oversee the integration of various systems, applications, and data sources.
- Bridge gaps between legacy systems and modern digital platforms.
- Champion interoperability standards.Security and Compliance:
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
- Collaborate with security teams to address cybersecurity concerns, data privacy, regulatory compliance, and implement robust security measures.Stakeholder Management, Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Collaborate and work closely with business leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Lead a team of architects, engineers, and developers.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
