We are seeking Back End Software Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One. -- Team Info: We are building a platform to enable engineers and data analysts to quickly deploy real time streaming data transformation jobs within the Capital One data ecosystem. This will remove the need for teams to build and maintain their own streaming infrastructure, monitoring, alerts, or data governance saving weeks of time for engineering teams and enabling data analysts without a tech team to access a fully automated transformation solution. -- As the need for more real time data processing is rising, we are enabling teams to quickly deploy production ready streaming data transformation jobs to production. We follow an agile, YBYO (You Build, You Own) approach to software development, delivery, and support. As a lead software engineer you will own and be responsible for the delivery of software solutions required by the streaming transforms platform through various phases of the SDLC (Software Development LifeCycle), from requirements gathering and interacting with stakeholders (Product, partner teams) to reviewing technical feasibility and designing the solution/fix to implementation, testing (unit, integration, regression, e2e, etc..), deployment, and support. What You'll Do:-- - Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company
- Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code
- Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
- Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services Basic Qualifications:--
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
- At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) Preferred Qualifications:
