Virginia Union University is seeking a dedicated and experienced Total Wellness Coach Supervisor to lead and oversee the wellness programs and services responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating mental health. This position also includes providing direct intervention services, ensuring a supportive campus environment for student wellness strategic planning, crisis management, and collaboration across multiple university departments. Responsibilities - Assist in establishing annual goals for wellness programs and services.
- Oversee and implement mental health and wellness programs, including living-learning activities in collaboration with university departments.
- Develop growth-group activities each semester to support student development.
- Redevelop and manage a comprehensive crisis referral system for the university.
- Conduct intake assessments, individual and group counseling, and provide crisis intervention services.
- Respond to mental health emergencies and crises, including after-hours situations, as needed.
- Maintain and update protocols for responding to mental health crises and emergencies.
- Advise institutional leadership on trends in student mental health and wellness.
- Serve as a liaison to faculty, staff, parents, and external stakeholders regarding student mental health needs.
- Collaborate with other university departments to integrate wellness programs into the broader campus environment.
- Serve on various university committees, including the Crisis Intervention Team, to support student well-being.
- Participate in the development of strategic plans for wellness and student support services.
- Assist in the assessment and evaluation of wellness programs to ensure continuous improvement.
- Provide input on policies and procedures related to student mental health.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff in the Office of Wellness and Student Support Services.
- Maintain effective relationships with all campus units and external partners to promote wellness initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures regarding student mental health and wellness.
Education - Master's degree in Counseling, Counseling/Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in a college or university setting, with significant administrative, clinical, and supervisory experience.
