130 5th Ave (22130), United States of America, New York, New YorkSr. Director, Software EngineeringCapital One is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead, manage, mentor, and build highly talented software engineering teams to deliver incredible front-end and SDK based interaction experiences for our ML and AI developer community. - The Sr. Director must have the ability to attract and recruit the industry's best talent, and simultaneously have the technical acumen to ensure that we build compelling, rock solid, customer oriented solutions in an iterative manner. - This role within the AI/ML Platform organization will partner with design, engineering, product and technical program management (TPM) stakeholders to influence overall strategy and drive delivery of - converged interaction patterns for our enterprise AI and ML Platforms. - The Sr. Director will play an active role driving the architecture and implementation of critical custom-built front-end interactions, work with their team to contribute to relevant open source projects, and also partner with our design org to ensure that all platform connection points are built in a consistent and efficient manner and will scale for the future. All of this will align with our long-term strategy of building a truly cutting edge AI and ML platform that will enable our goal of creating real-time and intelligent Capital One customer experiences. -As a candidate for this role, you're able to seamlessly switch from diving deep into technology with engineers to driving high-level, strategic discussions. You are a naturally curious technologist and stay on top of emerging trends, including hands-on prototyping of nascent technologies. You are not afraid to thoughtfully question existing processes and solutions and demonstrate a keen understanding of delivering business value and understand how to focus on the right priorities. -You will: - Possess great communication skills and demonstrated experience influencing stakeholders and partnering effectively with diverse user groups
- Clearly articulate a vision and build consensus around it
- Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product focused full-stack software engineers.
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team
- Work with product leaders and TPMs to define strategy, roadmap and destination architecture
- Continuously improve software engineering practices
- Work within and across teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
- Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions
- Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community

- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 9 years of experience in software development
- At least 7 years of experience in people management
- At least 3 years of experience owning an enterprise grade front-end offering.
- At least 3 years experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) -Preferred Qualifications:
