We are seeking Platform Engineers who are passionate about creating and supporting DevOps tools with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Platform Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises many of Capital One's most important enterprise platforms. We play an essential role in establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company, while also delivering capabilities that exemplify those practices.The Network Edge Engineering team is committed to providing Capital One enterprise solutions for network connectivity for all wired and wireless endpoints. We partner with internal stakeholders to ensure all assets connected to the Capital One enterprise network are secure and compliant. This team drives the strategy of software defined WAN, software defined switching, and software defined out of band access. As part of Capital One's move to a cloud based solution we are working towards building a well-managed platform to integrate and migrate our on-prem appliances into a cloud or SaaS offering.General Responsibilities: - Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
- Continuously improve software engineering practices
- Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
- Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of your solutions
- Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
- Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity
- Utilize scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby and groovy, Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services - -Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
- At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering -
- At least 2 years of networking experience
- At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experiencePreferred Qualifications:
