From the Ability Network, our Asian American & Pacific Islander Resource Group, the Latino Resource Group, and Red Cross PRIDE, to the Umoja African American Resource Group, our Veterans+ Resource Group, and the Women's Resource Group, these networks provide connections, mentoring and help give voice to important concerns and opinions.At the American Red Cross, your uniqueness can shine!WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): As a Medical Technologist at the Red Cross, you will perform basic and advanced donor and patient tests and interpret results to determine donor-recipient compatibility.WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities):* Resolving compatibility problems* Providing complex reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services* Performing automated and manual test procedures on blood samples* Standard Schedule: Second Shift M-F 3pm to 11:30 pm with some weekends and holiday rotationsWHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications): * ASCP certified MLT, MLS/MT or BB* Good written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Must be able to work on a team and independently. Ability to use a wide variety of lab or medical equipment. Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software for sustained periods.* Schedule: Must be available for daytime training during the first 6 months on the job.
