The hospital sits on the Eastern Virginia Medical Campus which serves as the primary teaching institution. Our Perfusionist works with innovative technology and programs such as heart transplants, CABGS, valve repair/replacements, ECMO, TAVR, and ventricular assist devices just to name a few.Under medical supervision, the Cardiac Perfusionist prepares appropriate perfusion equipment for surgery, monitors equipment during surgery, performs pre- and post-operative maintenance on perfusion equipment, and computes parameters for surgery to facilitate quality patient care for all open-heart surgical procedures.Required Education/Certifications: |
