Job Details - Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
- Job Summary: The CSFA will assist in skin closure, subcutaneous closure and ties, fascia closure and ties, closure and ties of peritoneum, tying deep vessels, incising tissue and performs hemostatic techniques; assists with procedural set up and patient preparedness for specific procedures in positioning, prepping and draping, and participate in patient transport and room turnover.
- Types of Cases REQ: General, Ortho/Spine/Joints, Vascular, Gyn Endo/Laparoscopic and Labor & Delivery cases
- First-timers accepted: Yes
- Weekend REQ: As needed per on call requirements
- Is on-call REQ? Yes; Call, off-shifts and holidays are scheduled as needed on the unit for all staff
- Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes
- Floating Req to Sister Facilities: Open to accommodating block schedule? At Manager's Discretion

Job Requirements - Required: CSFA
- VA Board of Medicine Certified First Surgical Assistant w/ NBSTSA and NCCSA required
- 2 yrs exp
- Preferred: CSTFA
Schedule Information - Shift: 07:00-17:00 OR 11:00-21:00 based on needs of unit
- Call required, nights, weekends holidays as needed
Unit Specific Information - Inpatient, outpatient and trauma work setting experience required.
