Position Details: Title: Field Service Technician Location: Richmond, VA (must like within a 1 - hour radius of Richmond) Shift: M-F; occasional weekends if customer issues arise. Compensation: $65K -$75K plus overtime. (Any hours worked over 40 will be paid at OT rate, and this position pays Portal to Portal. Travel time to a job (driving to the job in the morning), does count towards OT. Traveling to a hotel hours are counted, but not towards OT. If air travel hours go over 40, then you are paid in addition to the salary, but at straight time rates.) Position Description: The Field Service Technician applies diversified knowledge of power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), and remote power panels (RPPs) from company to complete startup, testing, troubleshooting, modifications, operation, and maintenance work. The technician will be homebased and dispatched to customer sites as required. --- Startup and commissioning of new units. --- Maintenance and Repair: Responsible for maintaining and providing emergency support for company equipment at customer sites within the regional coverage area. --- Modifications: Implement field modifications, follow procedures generated from the back office, and provide feedback on said procedures as needed. --- Training and Development: Attend periodic training at company headquarters on various OEM units and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including testing equipment and rebuilding older systems. --- Troubleshooting: Work with the technical support group to troubleshoot maintenance or operational issues with equipment. --- Field Service Reporting: Generate Field Service Reports (FSRs) that are clear, professional, and completed in a timely manner. Requirements: --- 4 years of service in the armed forces in a STEM-related role is also considered valuable experience. --- Be able to learn troubleshooting down to the component level on equipment such as PDUs (Power Distribution Units), UPSs (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), and RPPS (Remote Power Panels). --- Utilize hand tools and test equipment to perform work. --- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean background. --- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong customer relation skills. --- Provide a high level of quality customer service and complete Field Service Reports in a timely manner. --- Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
