  Job Details
  • This nursing position requires prior PCU experience, with knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patients. A strong background in chest tube management and epidurals is essential. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a high level of teamwork and time management capabilities due to the rapid turnover of patients.
    Job Requirements
    • Candidates without PCU experience and knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patients will not be considered for this role.
    • Preferred skills include teamwork ability and efficient time management.
      Schedule Information
      • The position requires flexibility to work day or night shifts, with a day shift team consisting of 3-4 RNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 Clinical Coordinator, and the night shift team having 3-4 RNs and 1 PCT.
      • The patient ratio is typically 4-5 patients per RN.
        Unit Specific Information
        • Common procedures performed in the unit include post cardiac cath, EP studies, device placements, groin management, and care for post-op surgical patients. Critical drips, epidurals, and PCA are also typical tasks.
          Additional Details
          • The ideal candidate will be outgoing, team-oriented, and willing to exceed expectations for patient care. Responsibilities may include floating to the ICU for PCU type patients, PCU, and Med-surg units taking up to 5 patients. The dress code requires navy or white scrubs, which can be mixed or matched.
