Job Description Job Summary: A Marine Fire Alarm Service Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems in accordance with industry standards and NAVSEA Standard items. - Working closely with the Craft Supervisor to install, test, and provide feedback of the systems safe operation. As required by NAVSEA Standard items and BAE Systems policies and procedures
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm components, including control panels, detectors, horns, batteries, and annunciators, to verify proper operation.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings, test results and any related deficiencies or non-compliance issues observed, in accordance with NAVSEA Standard items.
- Interact professionally with Ships Force personnel to schedule work, discuss inspection findings, address any concerns or questions, and provide recommendations for system upgrades or improvements.
- Troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform repairs as needed, identifying, and resolving issues with wiring, circuitry, devices, and software.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, always adhering to safety guidelines, protocols, and procedures.
- Must be capable of using various types of electrical multimeter testing device and or general-purpose test equipment.
- Must have basic computer skills, using Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel)
- While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
