Job Details - Lab Assistant position available in Anacortes, WA.
- Facility: Island Health.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
- Department: Lab Assistant.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills & common job duties: Phlebotomy, specimen processing, centrifuge, waived test performance, some chem/heme/coag machine loading & microbiology set ups, inpatient and outpatient experience.
Job Requirements - BLS certification, Lab assistant- Washington MAP license- REQUIRED.
- Must be able to perform Phlebotomy.
- Meditech experience preferred.
- POC testing preference.
- Candidates with more experience with lab activities stated will be highly preferred.
Schedule Information - Nights- 7 days on, 7 days off with 10-hour shifts; other shifts are 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday with rotating weekend.
- Day shifts start from 0530-0930 with staggered start times; evening shifts from 1230-0230.
- Variable shift between days and evenings.
- Weekend Requirements: 8-hour shifts - one weekend day every 4-6 weeks; weekend only shifts are 12 hours.
- Department Specific Orientation: 2-3 days of orientation; 7 days on/7 days off evening shift, Saturday & Sunday 6am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday noon-10:30pm
Unit Specific Information - Candidates must be comfortable with working alone for about 4 hours during weekend only shifts.
- Dress Code: Professional scrubs of any color or khakis with a nice shirt and closed-toe shoes.
