The NCAC Instructor will facilitate the Adult Recreation Programming, including Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL), Walk with Ease (WWE), and the Zumba programs. Programs are part-time, with activities scheduled in the mornings and throughout the afternoon and evenings. Many participants are bi-lingual or Spanish-speaking. All NCAC Instructors may have the opportunity to provide instruction in a number of service areas. We've transformed into a leading community health center. With 40+ clinics across Washington and Oregon, we offer a wide range of services such as medical, dental, pharmacy, orthodontia, nutritional counseling, autism screening, and behavioral health. Our holistic model also extends assistance to shelter, energy, weatherization, HIV and AIDS counseling, home visits, and mobile medical/dental clinics. Position Highlights: - $27.88/Hour
- The NCAC Instructor will facilitate the Adult Recreation Programming, including Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL), Walk with Ease (WWE), and the Zumba programs.
What You'll Do: - Teach Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes to improve English language skills and increase educational attainment
- Instruction is designed to prepare students for the General Education Diploma (GED), post-secondary education, and/or the workforce
- Prepare lesson plans for students in several learning areas
- Design, develop, and deliver learning opportunities and assess individual academic progress
- Differentiate instruction to meet the individual student's needs and various learning styles
- Document and report student attendance and progress
- Incorporate Life Skills, Leadership, Vocational Skills, and other relevant learning opportunities
- Attend case management meetings and provide feedback on participants
- Solicit, screen, and orient volunteer tutors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: - Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Certification and/or demonstrated knowledge of the subject matter being instructed required
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Communication, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
- Experience:
- Two years experience teaching adults and/or teenagers required
- One year of supervisory experience in a classroom setting or educational program preferred
- Two years experience developing and/or implementing curricula through instruction in a classroom setting or educational program preferred
- Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
- CPR/First Aid Certification to be obtained in the first 30 days of employment
- Valid Driver's License and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage
