Per Diem OB/GYN opening in Coupeville, Washington _x000D_ - Located in Coupeville, WA - Seattle 55m_x000D x000D_ Position Details: _x000D x000D_- Per Diem (On-call), Variable Shifts, TBD_x000D_- Seeking an OB/GYN generalist to join our Womens Care Clinic to provide obstetrics and gynecology services_x000D_- This position is expected to perform the full gamut of office based and hospital based procedures including IUD placements, LEEP procedures, hysteroscopy and endometrial ablative procedures, as well as basic and advanced laparoscopic procedures such as LAVHs_x000D_- The shared practice includes an on campus outpatient rural health womens care clinic where you will be working with a team consisting of fellow OB/GYNs, CNMs, RNs, MAs and patient registrars, and a state of the art labor and delivery unit within the adjacent hospital_x000D_- Our goal for call coverage is 1:4 and this position will be working with and supervising CNMs for most deliveries_x000D_- The Clinic performs over 300 deliveries per year in our 6 spacious labor and delivery suites with modern equipment and 24 hour dedicated epidural availability. _x000D_- Our nursery is a level I_x000D_- Responsibilities include direct patient care, oversight/supervision of mid-level practitioners, liaison activities with local medical staff members and participation in policy development and long-term planning for clinic operations._x000D_- Principle Functions includes the following, other duties may be assigned:_x000D_ - Management of Patient Care:_x000D_ - Provides direct services to patients on ongoing basis at both sites, via current caseload as well as consultation with mid-level staff._x000D_ - Provides for the clinical supervision of mid-level staff at all times, and remains available as a resource for planning, implementing and evaluating patient care services._x000D_ - Periodically reviews medical records (at least quarterly) as part of patient care evaluation process._x000D_ - Ensures that ongoing patient and family education is provided, and facilitates the development & evaluation of standardized education plans and approaches._x000D_ - Assists in ongoing Quality Improvement activities, including planning, conducting, reporting, and evaluation via the performance review process._x000D_ - Personnel Management and Development:_x000D_ - Provides leadership and direction to mid-level practitioner staff in accordance with practice act guidelines, as well as department & system goals and objectives._x000D_ - Assists in professional growth and development of clinical staff, including education within and beyond the department._x000D_ - Participates in and fosters ongoing staff communication and support via regular staff meetings, work group meetings, committees, etc._x000D_ - Management of clinic programs, services:_x000D_ - Remains aware of and assists in meeting or exceeding clinic external review requirements to maintain operations and reimbursement including: Medicare/Medicaid requirements, DNV accreditation, and Rural Health Clinic standards/certification/accreditation._x000D_ - Ensures that third party payor requirements are met, including application and credentialing processes, and maintains an ongoing dialog with primary payors. Assists as needed in third party payor contract negotiation and compliance._x000D_ - Maintains current knowledge of industry climate, and trends, including community needs and requests for services._x000D_ - Works closely with the Clinic Manager to:_x000D_ - Foster open, supportive communication and conflict management within and beyond the clinics._x000D_ - Establish and maintain a departmental climate conducive to healthy work relationships and collaboration._x000D_ - Participates in interdepartmental, and systems meetings and work groups as required or requested._x000D_ - Serves as a resource to other departments and community providers as needed._x000D_ - Provides community education and/or information as requested, and attends community meetings as appropriate._x000D_ - Assumes responsibility for own professional education and developmental needs, and seeks support and assistance as needed._x000D_ - Supports the clinics vision, mission values and objectives, in addition to supporting and carrying forward the Patients First philosophy. _x000D x000D_ Job Knowledge & Qualifications: _x000D x000D_ - Education_x000D_ - Degree in medicine (MD or DO) from a nationally accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school._x000D_ - Completion of a nationally accredited internship and residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology._x000D_ - Training and Experience_x000D_ - A minimum of three years as a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist preferred. Minimum of one to three years experience in supervision of mid-level practitioners and/or rural health clinic setting preferred. Must demonstrate current clinical skills, well-developed communication skills, and independent decision making skills. Must demonstrate ability to provide oversight and support to mid-level staff.
