The Dogwood team is dedicated to finding creative design solutions to meet our customer's needs. General Job DescriptionDogwood Industries is seeking a Receiving Material Handler to join our team. The core mission of the Receiving Material Handler is to facilitate the efficient and accurate receipt and storage of the materials used in the manufacturing processes. The Receiving Material Handler is an integral part of the production team and is required to have comprehensive knowledge about the material and understand the manufacturing workflow. Duties & Responsibilities - Maintain a calendar of incoming materials and developing plans for the off-loading of materials
- Accurately fulfill department requisitions and deliver parts throughout factory
- Responsible for material inspections
- Review purchase orders
- Ensure proper documentation of materials is complete
- Accurately follow material control procedures
- Effectively communicate with procurement staff, supervisors, and relevant production staff regarding material deliveries
- Responsible for material inventory and material storage
- Meet critical deadlines and schedules
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
- Perform general site clean-up and preparation tasks
- Move materials safely and effectively through the factory with the required equipmentRequirements:Requirements
- High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree
- 2+ years of experience operating a forklift
- Previous construction, warehouse, or manufacturing experience
- Strong organization skills and the ability to track, retain and integrate information
- Ability to confidently interface with all levels of company organization
- Fluent in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe
- Excellent written communications, using correct grammar and spellingQualifications
- Previous shipping and/or receiving experience is a plus
Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 70 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment. The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
