  • Compassion is at the heart of our work and approach.Position: ACRS seeks a full-time Development Director who leads, sets, and oversees implementation of fund development strategies to fulfill agency budgetary requirements and growth goals, including board and donor cultivation and relations, annual and special event and volunteer programming. Leads and oversees development of communications, public relations, and marketing strategies.Usual Schedule: Mon - Fri, Hybrid work is available and based on agency needs.Competitive Benefits Package includes:
    • Pay range is between $142,800 to $155,800 annually and is based on experience with possible increases after 6 months from date of hire.
    • ACRS pays 100% for employee only HMO/Virtual Plus medical benefits. Additional options are covered anywhere from 75% to 85%.

      • Employee Assistance Program.Essential Job Functions:
        • In conjunction with the Executive Director, leads strategy, sets goals, cultivates donors, and oversees implementation of a broad array of fund development campaigns, events, foundation and corporate funding and donor engagement including but not limited to major, sustaining, peer to peer, workplace and planned gifts, grant writing and reports, and volunteer programs.
        • Leads department-wide planning. Monitors key performance indicators and industry trends. Collaborates with and supervises staff in development and implementation of long term and annual strategies, goals and plans for communications, marketing, use of technology, and strategic partnerships.
        • Provides oversight for successful planning and execution in operational, data, and volunteer initiatives. Plans and directs work assignments for Development staff: monitors performance of assigned staff and conducts timely performance reviews; approves salary increases per agency budget and policies.
        • Takes formal corrective action to ensure high quality services, including input to dismiss employee; resolves complaints and grievances lodged by assigned staff.
        • Supports the Executive Director and collaborates with Communications Manager in planning, messaging, and implementing publicity, public relations campaigns, events and other activities that increase agency visibility and maintain positive relations in the Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (A&NH/PI) and broader communities; and planning, production and promotion of annual and special events.
        • Leads Development Department budget by aligning revenue and expense budgets with agencywide and Development's planned initiatives and campaigns, setting strategies and goals for all revenue generating activities from non-public sources.
        • Collaborates with Program Directors to set strategy, cultivate prospects and write grants and reports for private funding for program needs through the annual agency budget process.
        • Supports Executive Team with leadership and strategic recommendations for new agency initiatives, ACRS internal policy matters, and communications including crisis communications.
        • Researches, recommends and follows up with candidates for Board Nomination Committee and board skills development. Cultivates new and existing board members, key donors, foundations, and corporate funders.
        • Promotes organizational and team values, protocols. Directly supervises staff through development, training, recognition, performance reviews; enforces agency personnel policies and procedures; resolves routine departmental personnel issues; assures adequate department staffing; participates in hiring/training/separation process of all Development Staff, leads full employee life cycle for direct reports.
        • Other job-related duties as assigned by management.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
          • Bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing or related field preferred. OR
          • Certificate in fundraising from an NDOA/NSFRE recognized program and 2 years' work experience OR
          • 3-4 years' experience in non-profit fundraising, public relations and community organizing.
          • Must have strong organizational, planning, communication, management, and supervisory skills.
          • Knowledge of broad array of fund development tools, and communications/marketing and public relations/advocacy strategies.
          • 3-4 years' experience with staff management, leadership and coordination.
          • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, demonstrating a successful track record in donor cultivation, grant writing, and securing philanthropic support.
          • Experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategies, managing donor relationships, and meeting financial goals is essential.
          • Ability to provide effective and respectful community and client engagement responsive to diverse cultural beliefs and practices.
          • Effective ability to navigate a personal computer. Competency in use of Microsoft Outlook and other communications and donor data platforms.
          • Must be flexible in order to work on a variety of projects simultaneously and maintain good relationships with volunteers.Working Conditions: The position requires regular mobility within the office or workspace, may involve sitting for extended periods throughout the day and the ability to handle objects, tools, or controls. Occasional lifting or moving of up to 20 pounds may be required. May involve tasks where visual acuity is beneficial. This position is hybrid, with work divided between remote and on-site locations. Approximately 40% to 60% of the work will be performed in person at various sites, while the remaining percentage will be conducted remotely (telecommuting). These hybrid work expectations are subject to change at the agency's discretion.
