The Charleston Area Medical Center Institute for Academic Medicine is seeking to recruit an interventional cardiology fellowship program director. This opportunity involves joining an elite cardiology team and participating in the formative years of an ACGME accredited interventional cardiology fellowship program. The Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) is a 1,103-bed regional referral center made up of six hospitals CAMC General Hospital, CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, CAMC Memorial Hospital, CAMC Plateau Medical Center, CAMC Teays Valley Hospital and CAMC Women and Children s Hospital, the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine and the CAMC Foundation. Nearly 900 physicians have admitting privileges at CAMC, which is also West Virginia's premiere medical teaching facility, hosting, on any given day, more than 800 students in programs leading to degrees or certifications in health professions. Located in the capital city of Charleston, CAMC is home to a nationally recognized Heart and Vascular Center. Multidisciplinary care is provided via a team approach with surgery, interventional and structural cardiology supported by professionals with advanced cardiac imaging skills in CT, MRI and ECHO. The CAMC Heart and Vascular Center offers state-of-the-art advanced imaging and intensive care unit facilities that are supported by 8 catherization labs, 3 dedicated vascular interventional labs and 3 EP labs. Under the auspices of the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine, CAMC is a growing academic medical center sponsoring 14 accredited medical residencies and fellowship programs. Home to two regional medical school campuses, CAMC hosts 160 3 rd and 4 th year medical students and provides clinical education experiences to over 1500 allied health professionals in training annually. A new Center for Learning and Research will open in August 2023 and will house a 14,000 square foot simulation center and other facilities dedicated to our education and research programs.
