A company is looking for a Public Benefit Specialist to assist uninsured and under-insured patients with eligibility for state Medicaid benefits and financial assistance programs.



Key Responsibilities

Review and coordinate the application process for uninsured/under-insured patients to determine eligibility for programs
Communicate effectively with patients to gather necessary documentation for applications
Follow up on submitted applications to ensure timely billing and adjustments, while documenting all relevant actions


Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, focusing on patient interactions regarding financial issues
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
Understanding of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials
High School Diploma or GED; a combination of post-secondary education and experience may be considered
