  Job Details
  • Float Pool position at Weirton Medical Center
  • Expected to float to multiple units of varying acuity levels
  • Experience required: 5 years, preferably with 1 year in ICU or ED
  • Comfortable with patient ratios from 1:2-10
  • Must be flexible and adaptable with multi-functional expertise
    Job Requirements
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required if working in CCU or ED
    • 5 years of nursing experience
    • 1 year of ICU or ED experience preferred
    • Comfortable managing critical drips in ED and CCU
      Schedule Information
      • Self-scheduling available
      • 3 12-hour shifts per week
      • Weekend requirements: Every other weekend
      • Holiday rotation may be required
      • Assignments received via text message 2 hours prior to shift start
        Unit Specific Information
        • Will float to ED or CCU if within skillset
        • Nurse:Patient Ratios vary by unit: CCU- 1:2-3, IMC- 1:4-6, MS Level 7- 1:5-6, MS Level 8- 1:5-8, Skilled Care- 1:8-10, ED- TBD
        • 1 day of orientation and 1 day with a preceptor before independent work
          Additional Details
          • Common diagnoses include NSTEMI, Pneumonia, Sepsis, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Diverticulitis
          • Charge nurse may take an assignment as needed
          • Nurse aids/patient care techs available on units with ratios of 1:7-15
