Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights 7 pm-7:30 am; every other weekend, rotating holidays Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Must have a valid RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA preferred); TNCC is preferred Must-Have: COVID Vaccine Required (Fully vaccinated: 2 shots of Moderna or Pfizer, or 1 shot of Johnson & Johnson; exemptions for Medical or Religious reasons require an exemption form) Job Description: - Support critical care unit with high acuity patients, including post-cath lab, balloon pumps, and ventrics. - Manage a patient ratio of 1:1-2 for ICU, 1:3 for Stepdown. - Utilize Epic Systems for electronic medical records. - Work alongside a designated Charge Nurse available 24/7. - Collaborate with Capstone students, nursing students, and nurse externs for educational support. - Maintain professional appearance with navy blue scrubs; navy or white jacket; undershirt in white or navy. - Manage Philips Cardiac Monitors and Braun IV pumps. - Utilize Servo & Hamilton ventilators, managed by Respiratory Therapy. - Work with Pulmonary Critical Care Intensivist during the day and a hospitalist at night. - Pharmacy support available in-house 24/7. - Participate in general hospital orientation followed by 1-2 shifts of unit orientation. - Floating outside the ICU is not typically required for travelers. - Actively engage with common diagnoses and patient types, similar to MICU/SICU with some cardiac acuity. - Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures.
