Certification Details - Registry eligible through the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers).
- Registration in Abdomen (AB), OB/GYN (OB) and Vascular (VT) required.
- Breast registration required at sites that perform Breast Ultrasound.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life support for the Healthcare provider (BLS) or an equivalent required within 90 days of hire.
Job Details - Position requires knowledge of imaging techniques for all areas of ultrasound: OB/GYN, Abdominal, Small Parts, Breast (site specific) Vascular, OR and Procedure in accordance with ACR guidelines and department specific policies.
- Assists with providing 24/7 coverage of the Ultrasound Service with rotating Saturdays, holidays and call coverage.
- Performs sonographic examination according to department standards and protocols using sound ergonomics to prevent injury.
- Produces high quality images and ensures that all images are appropriately labeled and identified.
- Analyzes physician orders and patient history to ensure correlation between patient history and exam to be administered.
- Contributes technical and professional knowledge to the interpreting physician.
- Able to work with other departments and modalities for appropriate scheduling and throughput of exams.
Job Requirements - One year of current clinical experience is preferred.
- Candidate must be proficient with ultrasound equipment and have basic knowledge of patient care equipment.
- Newly hired, experienced sonographers must be registry eligible through the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers).
- Sonographers will be required to be registered in Abdomen (AB), OB/GYN (OB) and Vascular (VT).
- Breast registration required at sites that perform Breast Ultrasound.
- Each registry not obtained at the time hire will need to be completed every 9 months until all registries are complete.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life support for the Healthcare provider (BLS) or an equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
Schedule Information - Provides 24/7 coverage of the Ultrasound Service with rotating Saturdays, holidays and call coverage.
